Garbage and domestic waste removal

With experience spanning three generations and more than 40 years in the waste business in Israel, the company operates a fleet of 70 trucks and heavy engineering equipment for the collection and removal of municipal waste nationwide, and for small and large private customers alike.

The fleet that provides service for the range of waste removal problems of municipalities and businesses includes compactor trucks, hooklift trucks, full-trailers, excavators, front-loaders, heavy sieve trucks, and five mobile hoppers for green waste and industrial waste to provide services for a long list of municipalities and large companies nationwide.  Garbage and domestic waste removal is an unavoidable product of modern society and growing populations and improved standard of living which result in waste from the products that we consume.  According to the Ministry of Environmental Protection, the quantity of waste has increased 2% annually over the last 15 years.  Improper handling can cause the following hazards:

  • Visual hazards
  • Odor hazards
  • Reduction in land and animal values
  •
  • Soil and groundwater contamination
  • Air pollution and greenhouse gas emissions
  • The spread of pests and diseases
  • Security hazards in airlanes

Waste removal - landfills

The burial of waste requires expensive land resources and has environmental, health, and economic ramifications.  Therefore, the Ministry of Environmental Protection's guiding principle for dealing with waste treatment, such as destruction of products is to turn waste from a hazard into a resource, and reduce the amount of waste that is taken for burial.  The steps for the handling of waste are:

  • Sorting at source
  • Reuse
  • Recycling
  • Energy production from waste

RDF page (return):  compost production and the burial of the residual waste.  Ministries sometimes disagree with private companies but there is a common guideline for waste removal and treatment, which is the welfare of the people of the State of Israel.

More Recycling - Less Burial

OROZ has therefore established, and continues to build, sorting and transfer plants and unique end-user plants to provide the best possible solution for the problems of waste in our country.  Sorting transfer station - this is a station for the receiving and sorting of unsorted domestic waste.  The waste that enters the station goes through a number of sorting stages at the end of which the raw materials are separated, packaged by type, and transferred for further treatment at recycling plants.  The different separation flows at these plants include:

  • Organic material
  • Paper
  • Cardboard
  • Plastic bags
  • Aluminum
  • Metal, green waste etc
  • Different kinds of plastic

End plants – are special installations that we have developed for the treatment of organic waste.  These plants complete the separation process and are an alternative to incineration.

Our Company’s vision is to lead the waste removal and recycling industry in Israel, with a different marketing approach where service and technological innovation create an end-product of the highest possible quality, for the benefit of our Company’s customers, service providers, and employees.

Becoming more efficient is our constant vision and concept - and we strive, like countries in the European Union, to promote the separation of municipal waste into two kinds: wet, waste which includes organic waste (biological decomposition); and one or more dry types, which contain the residual dry waste.  Waste separation is intended to increase recycling and the quality of recycled products that are produced.
